Project 001

The EyeWriter: Project 001 is the first Not Impossible project.

The EyeWriter is an ongoing collaborative effort to return creative freedom to anyone who has been affected by any type of neuromuscular syndrome, resulting in paralysis or loss of motor function.

It arose from the needs and desires of artists and writers who had lost the ability to express their natural creative skills. While there are products that already exist to help patients communicate—they are extremely expensive, heavy, and difficult to acquire through health insurance.

We broke down this situation and brainstormed solutions, and our direction was clear: Create a lightweight, low-cost, portable device for art and communication—and make it available to anyone who needs it.
